News & stories relating to our dental & cosmetic treatments.

It’s widely known that lips naturally become thinner as a person ages, due to the fact that the body produces less collagen which is what gives lips that gorgeous, plump look.  Many women dislike having thinner lips as they believe this could be aging them, but there are some fantastic non-surgical procedures which can make lips look full yet very natural.

Case 1 treated by dr Sina Salimi

Restylane is a non-surgical product which gives almost instant results.  The results are long lasting but are not permanent, which means that a person’s look can be changed very gradually over time, giving very subtle results if required.  When choosing a Restylane Surrey practitioner, it’s really important to choose someone who has plenty of experience and has a good eye for aesthetics in order to give a truly natural result.

Here at Estetica, our consultant, dr Sina Salimi, has a vast amount of experience and are able to give detailed advice to each individual who steps foot in our clinic.  This is to ensure that each client gets the best possible treatment and will achieve the look they desire.  The images below show an example of a recent lip enhancement which was carried out by him, which shows a very accurate and natural looking finish.  The client shown in the images received a combination of 1ml Restylane Lip combined with anti-wrinkle injections (Botox) around specific areas of the mouth.

There are a number of benefits to having lip enhancements, as women can enjoy having a defined lip line, a perfect cupid bow, fuller upper and lower lips, a young looking mouth and lip areas, gentle lifting in the corner of the mouth as well as the reduced aging appearance in the mouth area.

At Estetica we use Restylane Lip Volume for any lip enhancement  this product has been designed especially to increase the volume of the lips to enhance them and balance them.

They say that your eyes reflect what is in your soul but your lips and the corner of your mouth reveals what is in your mind. Whether happy or sad, peaceful or contemplative, there is no facial feature as expressive as your lips.

As the central feature of the lower third of the face, full and well defined lips portray a sense of youth, health, attractiveness and sexuality. They reach their fullness in our late teenage years or early twenties but thereafter, as they age, they lose volume and can become thin and flat.

Their appearance can be affected by a multitude of other facial structures including skin, fat, muscle, teeth and bones. As you grow older, these components change and ultimately contribute to the less attractive lip appearance.

For example, the amount and distribution of facial fat can change and combined with alterations in muscle, loss of jawbone and teeth height, results in a loss of lip support. The upshot of that process is a ‘sad look’.

Here at Estetica we recognise the changes that take place and understand these support structures frequently need addressing to either prevent or correct the down-turning of lip corners.

Volumetric lip enhancement to the rescue

What started in 1981 with the introduction of collagen for enhancing lips has become an evolution of excellent treatment modalities. Injectable collagen lip therapy continued to evolve with new, longer lasting products available today. In addition, the introduction of hyaluronic acid (HA) products heralded a new era in the ever-expanding choices for soft tissue augmentation. HA products like Restylane, Juvederm are an exciting class of materials that offer flexibility of use, safety and natural feel of the tissues treated.

The future of lip enhancement is bright and full of optimism. Today’s treatment options offer excellent results that satisfy both physicians and, more importantly, patients. The safety of volumetric lip enhancement continues to improve resulting in more and more patients seeking those elusive perfect lips.

Estetica’s Approach

Dr Sina Salimi at Estetica said; “The concept of beauty has changed over time and large lips and obvious volume augmentation is no longer the trend.

“At Estetica, we believe that the look, texture and balance is far more important than sizeable  impact and we are dedicated to creating a natural look  and a natural smile.”

With more than eight years of experience in facial aesthetic injectables, including Fillers and lip augmentation, Dr Salimi looks at each case differently. He combines different treatment options to create a natural result.

Do you suffer with acne or wrinkles caused by sun damage? Maybe you want to reduce fine lines under the eyes or around the mouth or improve the look and feel of skin that is dull in texture and colour. If so, why not consider a Chemical Peel?

A Chemical Peel is a body treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to eventually peel off. The regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin, thus the term Chemical Peel is derived.

Treatment opportunities

Some types of chemical peel can be purchased and administered without a medical license. However, people considering such treatment, are advised to seek professional help from a specialist before a procedure is performed. Here at Estetica, we are fortunate to have a full member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, Parisa Bahramian, who carries out the treatment. Parisa is a skilled and experienced pharmacist with a passion for knowledge and a desire to develop new ways of helping her clients enhance their features.

Light chemical peels

Light chemical peels are not only extremely popular treatments, but they are the most superficial of all chemical peels. It means there is literally NO downtime. These peels are often called “lunchtime peels” because you can get one done quickly over a lunch hour and return to work directly afterwards. During the treatment, the skin is exfoliated using an alpha or beta hydroxy acid. The treatment can improve mild to moderately severe cases of acne and can be given over the face or other body area where acne is a problem. The peel is also used to soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin texture and fade discolorations.

How it Works and What to Expect

Chemical Peels rapidly exfoliate the skin, allowing dead skin cells to shed more effectively. By keeping dead skin cells and excess oil from clogging the hair follicle, pore blockages (comedones) and pimples can be drastically reduced. During your peel treatment, the skin is first thoroughly cleansed and dried before the AHA or BHA is applied. The length of time the peeling agent is left on varies, but the average is about 10 minutes.

Thereafter, the peel is removed with cool water and a neutralizing agent. Once the skin is dried, the peel is complete. The nature of the treatment means the skin will look a little sunburnt. This redness can fade in a few hours or last up to five days, depending on the strength of the peeling agent used and how long it was left on the skin. You might also experience peeling or flaking of the skin and or burning during the treatment. These side-effects are common and nothing to worry about.

If you have undergone a chemical peel, let us know your experience. You can find us onTwitterFacebook and LinkedIn or maybe just leave a comment below. If you are based in Surrey or surrounding areas and want to speak with Parisa, you can contact her or on 01932 570099
