Ridding our bodies of every inch of its hair, sans our heads and our eyebrows is now a general part of modern day personal upkeep. Yet despite the extremities we will now go to, to be silky smooth all over, the "anti-hair" movement isn't exactly a recent phenomenon.

Hair removal has been documented right back to Ancient Egypt, where the women removed all the hair from their bodies, including that on their heads, with tweezers (made from seashells), pumice stones, or early beeswax and sugar based waxes. The trend to be bare continued throughout the decades slowing mutating to what it is today. But perhaps the most important milestone was the release of the first women’s electric razor by Remington in 1940. This invention meant being hairless was a quick and easy feat and with no need for overtly painful and time consuming routines. Then came the 60s with its beach babe vibe and with it it brought to fame the "bikini line’’. Since then, consumers have increasingly been willing to pay for services to achieve the desired and precise look.

Hair removal technologies have thankfully improved vastly over the years; long gone are the seashell tweezers and even eclectic razors have been relegated in favour of waxing. But for those who take hair removal seriously, or for those who find waxing useless against their thick ,dark and relentless hair growth, there really is only one treatment worth looking into and that is laser hair removal.

This high-tech innovation, called 'Selective Photothermolysis' sends a beam of light to damage hair follicles. The heat generated by the laser light both injures the follicle and inhibits future growth, all while leaving the skin completely unharmed. The treatment can be preformed on several areas of the body from the face, back, and even intimate areas, and for this reason has become increasingly popular not only amongst women but also men.

While waxing is still relevant today, it’s laser that is at the forefront of this booming trend owing to its reasonable cost and long term effects. Here at Estetica we understand the growing demand and that is why our expert laser hair removal treatment team are able to assess consumers and advise on the best course of treatment in order to achieve their desired look at a reasonable outlay.

Our clients are becoming more educated about the lasting benefits of this method of hair removable and while not all candidate will be suitable for laser treatment, those that are understand the long-term savings and the convenience of never having to worry about unsightly hairs ever again.

PRGF Plasma Rich Growth Factors- Vampire treatment.

My first introduction to the treatment was at the gym where a friend I had not seen for a few years looked gorgeous. Her skin was glowing!

We started talking, I complimented her beautiful skin, and then she told me…

Plasma Rich Growth Factors (PRGF) otherwise known as Vampire treatment! Sounds delicious!

I had never considered facial treatments, and always believed in aging gracefully, how she looked at her age made me completely change my mind.

She had the treatment done abroad back home a bit too far away from me, so I sat down with my laptop and searched within the area. Top of the list Estetica, surrey appeared. Their reviews were so positive I decided to check them out.

I spoke to a lovely lady over the phone who booked me in for an appointment. I was super excited to try this treatment!

To know what to expect from the treatment I went on the web and did some research.  I was amazed to find out the treatment is done for medical purposes as well, such as arthritis- to regenerate bone, Hair loss- to promote follicle formation, and regeneration of skin- which is the area I was looking at.

The benefits of plasma rich in Growth factors…

Our body has the ability to regenerate itself by means of the platelets found in our blood plasma which also heals our wounds. Growth factors are proteins found in our platelets that repair and regenerate our skin. The process of this treatment results in durable natural regeneration by the skin internally. It also promotes:

  • Production of the skins own hyaluronic acid
  • Increased consistency, firmness and reduced sagging by increased secretion of collagen and elastin in the skin.
  • Hydration is increased giving the skin a healthy look
  • Wrinkle reduction- facial expression lines lose their depth and smooth out.
  • Skin luminosity- brightening and youthful appearance that has been lost through the years is revitalises.

I cannot wait for this treatment to start!

Treatment day….

As I entered the surgery my jaw dropped at the beauty of the place. The design and detailing is thought of throughout. With soft music playing in the background, it immediately gave me the feeling of perfection not only in the surgery design but in the work being done here by the clinicians and staff…

I was greeted by the lovely receptionist Melinda and asked to take a seat. I could fall asleep in the seats!

My name was called and I was taken in by the friendly nurse Maral, asking me how I am and how my day is, very welcoming.

Dr Burgess is a professional polite lady. She shook my hand and insisted I call her Natty.  She truly listened to my questions and needs, and fully answered my questions. I was reassured and all my fears were gone in an instant. She told me this treatment is not a quick fix, instant change, but more like watering a flower, you don not see the benefit and change instantly, but rather slowly with long term benefits.

I laid back in the soft bright green chair, then treatment commenced…

My face was scrubbed gently and disinfected, very relaxing and therapeutic experience..

After the treatment there were some sore areas where the skin was thinner such as forehead, chin and under eyes which worried me, but I was reassured it is nothing to worry about and overall it was a relatively painless treatment.

There was a clever device with a tiny needle at the end that gently injected the plasma into my skin. It controls the pressure and speed at which the injections go into the skin which makes the treatment comfortable and pain-free! The whole thing lasted approximately 45mins, the best rest I have had in ages!

After treatment my skin is covered in the remaining plasma, just like a moisturiser but a slightly more jelly like texture. Dr Burgess asked me to not remove the layer or put any make up on for the rest of the day.

I was a bit red and blotchy which I read about and expected, I was also forewarned it will not look pretty after treatment but the long term benefits are worth it.

In order to get best results three sessions are needed. I booked my next one straight away.

The next day…

My skin felt soft, and it was glowing already. So pleased with the results I recommended the vampire treatment to my family and friends. I cannot wait for the next session…

Thank you to Dr Natty Burgess and the team for the pleasant experience and amazing results.

I absolutely recommend Estetica as a high end clinic in Chertsey as a ‘go to’ place for treatment.

We live in a world where looking good is important. We want to feel our best, so we can be our best – so we eat well, we diet and we do our utmost to look after our bodies both inside and out. Yet sometimes no amount of healthy eating or rigorous workouts can eliminate flaws we’d much rather be without. When our bodies change from aging or weight loss, or even gain, we can hide the effects; we can dress accordingly to achieve a desired look. But what about when the issues are with our face. Facial volume loss is a common side effect of extreme weight loss, as well as aging itself, but it is one part of our bodies we cannot hide away.

Facial volume loss appears when there is a lack of collagen and elastin within the skin, which subsequently then leads to looser facial tone, causing and exacerbating the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and creases. Losing this protein from our skin, combined with a natural loss of fat on the face can give the upper cheeks a hollow appearance that then creates a heaviness above the jaw line and around the chin area. This hollowed sagging skin gives a tired and aged look and can stop us feeling good.

Of course there are extreme procedures that one can undertake to achieve their profile of yesteryear, such as face lifts and the like; however, these procedures are not without risk and an extremely high price tag. So if you have worked hard to achieve the body of your dreams, but now want to tighten up your face or if your sporting habits have left your face somewhat withdrawn, or if you are simply trying to slow down the cruel tricks of time, there could be a much less invasive answer…

And that answer is a Thread Lift. Known in the cosmetic surgery world as a ‘non-surgical’ or even somewhat comically a ‘lunchtime’ face lift, the Thread Lift is the timeliest, most discreet and effective face lift available. This revolutionary minimally-invasive treatment lifts sagging and ageing areas of the face and is preformed without the use of any incisions or surgery at all. Instead anchoring sutures are placed under the skin using a fine needle to elevate the sagging tissue and lift problem areas. Thanks to the lack of sedation, the downtime required after a Thread Lift is marginal and an overnight hospital stay is not required. Instead it is simply performed under local anaesthetic and takes as little as 30 minutes, and although you may experience some very slight bruising or swelling in the days following your procedure, patients able to walk out and return home, or to work, a short while after a Thread Lift.

Effects of the treatment last around 18 months, at which point the threads and cones, of which both are biodegradable, are absorbed into the body without need for removable. So if you want to look as good on the outside as you do on the inside but don’t want to go under the knife then get in touch today and find out how we can help you achieve a more youthful and healthy looking appearance.
