A few years ago, mostly women signed up to anti-wrinkle treatments like skin tightening in Surrey, but things have changed since then. These days, more and more men are paying for age-defying procedures so they can look their best.
The Daily Mail reported an increase in the number of office workers who want a ‘finance face’, with anti-wrinkle injections requested to combat frown lines, which tend to be caused by their stressful banking jobs.
However, it is not just bankers that are looking for some extra help with their looks, and more outdoor workers are booking appointments for botulinum toxin to smooth out their wrinkles.
Roofer Stephen Melling told the news provider that he recently began to receive injections to get rid of his fine lines, saying: “I work outside a lot and because of all the wind and dust, I squint and frown quite a bit. I’d started to notice the lines were pretty deep, even when I wasn’t frowning.”
While the 52-year-old has used face creams to moisturise his skin after being exposed to harsh weather conditions working outside all day, it was only when he started the cosmetic treatments that he saw a difference.
Mr Melling said many guys “keep it secret because it’s vanity”; however, a lot of men he knows are concerned about the way they look. He also noted that dyeing hair or getting a suntan is also about improving appearances, and fewer men are proud of their wrinkles these days than they were in the past.
Here at Estica, we offer a wide range of cosmetic treatments – from chemical peels to microdermabrasion – to help people feel confident in the way they look whatever their gender.
