It is important to trust your body, and if you feel like something is not right or you notice anything that concerns you, you must talk to someone as soon as possible. If these new symptoms turn out to be the result of cancer then the sooner it is detected and managed, the more effective treatment will be and the better the chances will be of survival, according to the World Health Organisation.

Here are some of the symptoms that could be an early warning sign of cancer and should be checked on.

• Blood In Bodily Fluids – blood in urine, stool or other bodily fluids are a sign of bleeding somewhere in that system. It could be an ulcer, sore or infection, but could also be caused by a cancerous tumour. • Endless Cough – bad coughs can be caused by a wide range of illnesses, including colds and flu. However, if it feels constant, and comes alongside other symptoms on this list such as chest pain and shortness of breath, it could be a sign of lung cancer. • Extreme Fatigue – A few illnesses can cause fatigue, but it is a cancer symptom common to most types of cancer and does not go away despite sleeping more or lowering your activity level. • Loss of Appetite – Certain cancers, particularly of the stomach, pancreas and colon put pressure on your stomach, making you feel too full to eat, and others can change your metabolism and make you feel less hungry. • Weight Loss – If you are losing weight rapidly without another explanation, this could be a sign of cancer. • Skin Issues – If you have spots, lesions or growths that change colour, grow or get thicker, does not heal, or has an odd border to it, speak to a dermatologist. • Lumps – Lumps in the throat, breast or testicles are not always cancerous, but can be noncancerous tumours or other cysts., However, new and changing growths should always be checked just to be sure.
